Rev:
The IVV has a distinctive, international Awards program to recognize individual participation and achievement in IVV sanctioned events in more than 50 countries around the world. Record of one’s walks is kept in special booklets sold by clubs, the Awards Coordinator, or the CVF office itself. For each sanctioned event, a specially designed and unique stamp is placed in the participant’s IVV booklet. Participants may keep track of their distance, the number of their participations, or both. At regular intervals, the participant returns his / her Distance or Event Participation booklet to the CVF national Awards Coordinator. All stamps for officially sanctioned IVV events in Canada and other IVV Member countries around the world may be placed in the Canadian booklet and counted for credit. A small fee is charged to cover the cost of mailing and materials for the booklet, the IVV pin [Events participation] or patch [total accumulated distance] and certificate.
Each year, at the CVF Annual General Meeting, volunteers and organizers from across Canada are recognized for their “exceptional service to Canadian Volkssport”. The recipients are nominated by the clubs, and recognition is given for 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25 years of volunteer service. Nominations are usually called for from the clubs very early in the New Year, depending upon the timing of the Annual General Meeting. Depending upon the level, awards for exceptional volunteer service may include a certificate, a pin, a plaque, or a special walking stick.
