If either of these are unavailable, please contact the appropriate Regional Director or the CVF office at cvffcv@bellnet.ca The CVF makes every effort to keep this information up to date, but changes do occur from time to time that may inconvenience walkers who travel.

From the south (Penticton), turn left onto Abbott St. at the first lights after crossing the floating bridge. From the north (Vernon) Hwy 97 /  Harvey St., turn right onto Abbott St. at the last lights before the floating bridge.

Daily: dawn to dusk

The trail is on paved surfaces through residential and lakeshore park. Suitable for wheelchairs and baby strollers.

The two longer routes are on the old railbed (Vancouver, Victoria and Eastern rail line) over a covered bridge through residential area and orchards with the return on the opposite side of the Similiameen River.

Route follows a wooded trail overlooking Mark Creek and St. Mary’s River valley to arrive in Marysville, an early miners’ community. The walk resumes along the banks of  Mark Creek. Watch for small trout in the tributaries leading into Mark Creek.

From Hwy 99, take Hwy 17 exit. Right on Ladner Trunk Rd (Hwy 10).Left into Ladner Centre Mall parking lot (across from Trenant Park Mall). Restaurant is at far end of mall beside Ladner Trunk Rd.

Daily: 08:00 - 20:00.

Route passes business area, Memorial Park, Fraser River and residential streets.

Ricky’s Restaurant, Coronation Mall, 24-370 Trans-Canada Hwy.

On the TransCanada Hwy from the north, right onto Davis Rd. From the south, left onto Davis Rd. Right into Coronation Mall or Ricky’s Restaurant parking lot.

Daily: 07:00 to dusk. Statutory holidays: 08:00 to dusk.

The 6 km and one of the 10 km routes follow the waterfront and the  main streets of Ladysmith. The Holland Creek Route (10 km) follows park trails and up several hills to Holland Creek with a view of a waterfall.

Turn off Trans Canada Hwy onto Hwy 18 to Lake Cowichan (about 0.5 hour drive from Duncan). Follow Lake Cowichan Rd to Riverside Inn Pub.

Daily. 11:00 - 20:00.

Walk goes through some residential areas and downtown Lake Cowichan, plus some stretches of the Trans Canada Trail including two old trestle bridges. Walk showcases the lake, the river and the town. One of three Cowichan Valley walks (082, 136, and 196).

Best Western Langley Inn, 5978 Glover Rd.

The hotel is on the south-east corner of Glover Rd and Langley By-Pass. From the east: take Hwy 1 westbound, exit 66, 232nd St.. Take Hwy 10 (toward Vancouver Island ferries) becomes Glover Rd. Left at Langley By-Pass. From the west: take Hwy 10 becoming Langley By-Pass.  Continue to Glover Rd. Walk box is at registration desk.

Daily: dawn - dusk.

The walk follows residential streets and trails through parks - Rotary Nicomekl (exercise trails), Sendall Gardens (exotic plant greenhouse) and Langley City; along water courses beside the Nicomekl River, where you often see birds and wildlife. Subject to flooding in spring and winter. There is an alternative 10 km "Flood" route available.

Car is not required for this walk on Mayne Island.  The Island is accessible, by ferry, from Tsawwassen on the mainland (~ 40 km south of Vancouver), and from Swartz Bay on Vancouver Island (~ 30 km north of Victoria. Contact BC Ferries at www.bcferries.com for schedules.

The route goes along winding and hilly country roads to Georgina Point Heritage Park and Lighthouse, with its views of Active Pass and Galiano Island, with an optional 3 km that includes a Japanese garden.

Off Trans Canada Hwy  to Mill Bay Centre. At traffic lights near the A&W, turn on Deloume Rd. (right from the south; left from the north) to shopping centre. Note that Deloume Rd. is not easily identified on the highway.

Daily: 08:00 - dusk.

Walks include local streets and a few trails. Great food at start/  finish. One of three Cowichan Valley walks (082, 136, 196)

The 10 km walk goes through Bowen Park and along Nanaimo’s harbour-front walkway. The 5 km route goes through downtown Nanaimo and along the harbour front.

Follow the Old Island Hwy (19A) to Country Club Shopping Centre bounded by Norwell Rd and 107 St. Perfect Cup is located in the food court inside the mall.

Mon - Sat: 08:30 - 17:30; Sun & Statutory holidays: 10:30 - 17:00. Closed Christmas Day, New Year's Day & Easter Sunday.

The 5 km walk is on residential streets and along Long Lake. One 10 km walk is along the shores of Long Lake, around Diver Lake, and through neighbourhood parks. Another 10 km goes through the Linley Valley and around Lost Lake. One 12 km walk follows E & N Parkway Trails and  through Beban Park. Another 12 km option goes on residential streets and up Sugar Loaf Mountain while another option goes through Beach Estates Park with a waterfall..

Start Point is 4.9 km away at the end of Westwood Rd.

REGISTER: From the North: follow the Old Island Hwy (19A) to Comox Rd. Turn right onto Comox Rd. Turn right at Wallace St. to enter the hotel parking lot. From the South turn left onto Comox Rd. Turn right at Wallace St. to enter the hotel parking lot. START POINT:  From the Hotel, turn right onto Comox Rd which becomes Bowen Rd. Left at Wakesiah Ave. (lights). Right at Jingle Pot Rd (lights). Cross Island Hwy (lights).  Left onto Westwood Rd. Follow Westwood Rd to the lake (4.9 km).

Daily: dawn to dusk.

The 6 km route goes around Westwood Lake while the 10 km goes into Morrell Nature Sanctuary and around Westwood Lake.

Close to New Westminster SkyTrain station. Exit 8 St. Left on Columbia St. Right on Begbie St; Cross tracks. Right Quayside Dr to Inn. Driving from Hwy 1 east, take Exit 40 A Brunette Ave., bear left onto Columbia St., Left on Begbie St., cross tracks, follow around onto Quayside Dr. From Hwy 1 west, take Exit 33 Kensington. Left on Canada Way, becomes 8 St. Left on Columbia St. Follow as above. Parking meters or on street.

Daily: dawn to dusk.

The route includes historic New Westminster (former capital of BC), downtown, Queen’s Park and Fraser River waterfront, many heritage homes and fantastic views.
