Follow the MacKenzie Highway to Enterprise. Register at Winnie's in Enterprise and then follow the signs to Alexandra Falls, about 5 mins.

Tu - Su 07:00 - 19:00. CLOSED Mondays.

The trail is beautifully maintained and showcases 2 waterfalls, one taller than Niagara Falls.

NWT Centennial Library, 75 Woodland Drive

From the MacKenzie Highway follow Hwy 2 to Hay River. The highway becomes MacKenzie Dr. At Commercial turn right and right again onto Woodland Dr. to the Library. After registering, follow the directions from the Library to the Start Point, Diamond Jenness School.

Monday-Thursday 10:00-17:00 & 19:00-21:00
Friday, Saturday, & Sunday 13:00-17:00

The route follows the Kiwanis Nature Trail to Great Slave Lake. It also passes along the Hay River. Parts are very uneven. Bears may also be a problem in certain areas. This hike is a Cenotaph and Scholars Walk, passing 4 schools and 1 community college. Of special interest is Diamond Jenness Secondary School, designed by Douglas Cardinal and painted purple. The trail follows the Hay River and on the 10 K section hikers must be alert for bears.

This walk follows the paved Trans Canada Trail, and goes through the Fisherman's Wharf to the museum in time to attend the opening of the museum or the Storytellers Festival. Start times may change to coincide with these events.

This is a Waterfalls Walk on gravelled paths. Anyone needing transportation to Enterprise should meet at the Public Library at 1:00.

The hike starts from the Sandy Lake parking lot at 2:00 but hikers who need transportation can meet at the Hay River Library at 12:30 for the 1 hour drive out to Sandy Lake. Bring your swimsuit and a pack-in picnic.
