WALK DESCRIPTION: Notre-Dame Cemetery, established in 1872, is Ottawa's oldest and largest Catholic Cemetery. It is the burial place for Wilfred Laurier, a Canadian Prime Minister and other well-known Canadians.  Beechwood Cemetery is designated as a National Historic Site of Canada. In addition to being Canada's National Cemetery, it is also the National Military Cemetery of Canada and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police National Memorial Cemetery.
