WALK INFORMATION: One of the most popular parks in the Northwest Territories. The walk stretches along the rim of Twin Falls Gorge, encompassing 32-metre-high Alexandra Falls, where the Hay River plunges into a deep limestone canyon and then, a few kilometres later, where it drops again, off three-tiered Louise Falls. An easy, forest-shrouded trail (complete with interpretive signage) links the two falls, and picnic tables and kitchen shelters are found at both Falls.

WALK INFORMATION: Fort Providence is a hamlet on the banks of the mighty Mackenzie River. It is situated in the Mackenzie Bison Sanctuary so there is a good chance to see some of these magnificent beasts. The walk starts at the Snowshoe in - a hotel, cafe and lounge and a fantastic gift shop. The walk around the hamlet is 5 km in length - to do 10 km you repeat the walk in the opposite direction.

WALK INFORMATION: Old Town dates from the days when gold was first discovered in Yellowknife. The route passes many historic areas and buildings including the Pilots Monument on top of 'The Rock' for great views.

WALK INFORMATION: Frame Lake is the iconic trail of Yellowknife. The 5 km route is an out and back route all on paved trail beside the lake. The 6 km route goes right around the lake and more than half of the trail is over the ancient Canadian Shield rocks. The 10 km route then continues to the trail around Niven Lake. There is also a 5 km route around Niven Lake and environs

WALK INFORMATION: The Range Lake Trail is another fine example of the typical Canadian Shield scenery. The 10 km route starts at the Chateau Nova and proceeds out and back along the Frame Lake Trail to link with the Range Lake Trail. The 5 km route requires transportation to the start point at the far end of Frame Lake.

WALK INFORMATION: Tin Can Hill is a scenic area close to New Town. The 10 km walk takes a scenic route to reach Tin Can Hill and includes a beautiful boardwalk into Great Slave Lake on the way. The 5 km walk takes a more direct route to and from the Tin Can Hill area.
